Carter G. Woodson invented Black History Week in 1926, with hopes that the celebration would one day be rendered unnecessary by the inclusion of African Americans in American history texts and lessons. Today, we have a full month but the schoolbooks haven't quite gotten there yet...do you feel Black History Month helps?
