[REACT] Can White People Tell Our Stories?

A film adaptation to the acclaimed sitcom Good Times is in the works. The original show was created by Norman Lear---a White man who received some criticism for the way Blacks were depicted on the show---and each of the main creative voices involved with the new project so far are also White. Is it possible for White people to effectively create and tell stories featuring us?
