As dating sites claim that they are responsible for many long-term relationships and marriages, statistics show that some 40 million Americans have tried online dating on at least one occasion. However, MTV's hit 'Catfish' and the recent Manti T'eo story have highlighted one of the biggest concerns about meeting people via the internet: what if the person you "meet" online isn't who they claim to be?
