Anchor Style
THEY are poised, professional and pulled together—every day—in front of millions of television viewers. They report live from the studio, in the field, in disaster areas and in all kinds of inclement weather.
These superhero women are television broadcast journalists, and it’s their job to anchor and report the news, but there’s more to that than just their professional skills. Along with journalistic talent, they have to be adept at hair, makeup and wardrobe. Unlike most working women, they can’t give in to the occasional bad hair day, PMS pimple or wardrobe malfunction. To complicate matters, these journalists sometimes report from intense and dangerous locations––where curling irons and personal shoppers aren’t available. Whether it is the rigors of 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina, or disaster areas and elections in South Africa, their assignments routinely take them from the suites to the streets. |

HER STYLE…your way
It’s possible to have beautiful lips that make a statement. For evenings try Fashion Fair Lip Gloss in Radiant Red. For a more natural look, use Sheer Gold, Sheer Bronze or Sheer Plum for instant glamour.

“I am a healthy 39-year-old female, and I’ve noticed in the last six months or so that my hair is thinning, especially in the crown of my head. Any suggestions? My beautician doesn’t seem to know what the problem is, so we’re trying to maintain the hair in that area. I’ve also noticed the hair length on my right side is longer than the length on my left side. I’ve tried sleeping on the different sides and even bought a silk pillowcase. I constantly have to trim the right side to even it out. Help!"
–Hopelessly Thinning, Snook, Texas
Dear Hopelessly Thinning:
“You could be experiencing hair thinning for a number of reasons. No. 1 is heredity. Do women in your family on either side have this problem? No. 2 is stress, which can cause a number of problems with our bodies. No. 3: Are you currently taking any medication that may cause this side effect? The list could go on and on. My suggestion is to talk to your female family members on both sides to see if hair thinning is a family trait. Many times we are stressed and don’t even know it. If this is the case, you may want to somehow reduce your stress level. If stress or heredity is not the problem, then you should consult a dermatologist as well as your physician to help determine what the problem is. In regards to your hair being uneven, this is a common problem that many people experience. One side always appears to grow faster than the other. Last but not least, as we age our bodies are constantly changing.”
