Last year marked the 100th birthday of legendary photographer Gordon Parks and his legacy has been celebrated across the country through a series of exhibitions of his work. The Jenkins Johnson Gallery of San Francisco is currently showing "Gordon Parks: Centennial," an exhibition which surveys works spanning six decades of the artist's career.

Presented in collaboration with The Gordon Parks Foundation, the exhibition features more than seventy-five images, including his famed reinterpretation of "American Gothic" and selections from his Life magazine photo essays and will coincide with The Studio Museum in Harlem’s "Gordon Parks: A Harlem Family 1967,"  which runs through June 30, 2013.

Check out some of the amazing photos above and if you're in the San Francisco area, "Gordon Parks: Centennial" runs through April 27th.  visit The Jenkins Johnson Gallery's website for details.
