Career Goals

After attaining a doctorates degree in Counseling Psychology, my goal is to continue my campaign for the Delores Barr Weaver Policy Center. This Program advocates for girls who are caught up in Florida's Juvenile Justice System. It is our goal to transform the justice systems response to girls through a comprehensive view of the pathways girls take into the system, involving unmet needs in children's health, early education, child welfare and juvenile justice.

Most memorable contribution as a Campus Queen

As Miss Edward Waters College, my most memorable contribution was the participation in the EWC Christmas Tree Lighting which hosted over 200 elementary students in Jacksonville, Florida. It can be easily understood that Christmas can be a magical time when viewed through the eyes of a child. During this event, we offered decorative cookies with hot chocolate and apple cider. We included various stations where the child was able to create personal Christmas tree ornaments to be taken home to their families. To be able to know that you're the reason behind a child's smile is a blessing in itself. We concluded the event with poems and scriptures read from the bible, so that the children would gain a deeper insight in the reason for the season. The joyous feeling of helping others allows me to relate to this influential quote by Anthony Robins, "Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility, to give something back, thus becoming something more."
