At Grambling State University, I am an active member of the Public Relations Student Association, Grambling Sports Radio Network, Favrot Student Union Board, Student Government Association, and I have served my school as Miss Black Dynasty 2010-2011, and Miss Covergirl 2011-2012. Although I am involved in many extracurricular activities, I have maintained a 3.55 GPA, as well as membership in the prestigious Earl Lester Cole Honors College.Leisure Activities
In my spare time, I enjoy scrapbooking, painting, and reading works from African American writers such as Mary Monroe, Toni Morrison, and Nikki Giovanni to name a few. I also enjoy staying fit and healthy by participating in Zumba and other aerobic exercises, and trying out different healthy recipes and dishes.Career Goals
After graduation, I plan to further my education in Mass Communication to continue inspiring and motivating students across the state. Once I have completed requirements for my master's degree, I hope to start a non-profit organization whose mission will be to rehabilitate at risk youth. Most memorable contribution as a Campus Queen
My most memorable contribution as a campus queen was participating in recruitment and mentoring programs where I had the opportunity to inform hundreds of junior high and high school students about the rewards of continuing their education post high school. Many of the students I visited considered going to college a dream, and not something that they could achieve. Convincing students that attending college is something that they too could do was extremely rewarding. Some students that I have come in contact with throughout my reign had no knowledge of the numerous Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) across the country, so educating them on the significance of HBCUs and encouraging them to apply to such universities, including my illustrious university, was something I will never forget. During my reign it was my mission to inspire every man, woman, and child that any dream is attainable regardless of how big or small it is. Attending college should not be something that desiring students consider an unattainable goal or dream.
