New research reveals that 75 percent of those ages 25 to 33 have experienced a quarter-life crisis, according to a LinkedIn study.

A life crisis is best described as a period of time when a person starts to feel doubtful about his or her life. It usually happens late in life and is usually brought on by the stress of being an adult aka mid-life crisis.

Key findings of the study include:

  • 61 percent of 25 to 33-year-olds surveyed said they feel anxious about finding a job they’re passionate about
  • Nearly half (48%) report anxiety when comparing themselves to more successful friends, with women feeling pressure more than men (51% vs. 41%)
  • More than one-quarter (23%) have taken a professional break during this period of uncertainty
  • More than one-quarter (27%) have relocated, often due to affordable housing and access to new job opportunities

More than one-quarter (28%) of those ages 25 to 33  are certain what dream job they’d like to have as a profession, but are unsure about how to approach a career move, the study found. 56 percent want advice on how to determine what’s next, but don’t know where to get help.

To assist with these fears, LinkedIn has launched a new career advice feature on its platform. For more info, visit www.linkedin.com/opportunities/career-advice/start-getting-advice.
