Actor Trevor Jackson walked the red carpet Thursday (May 10) for the premiere of Solo: A Star Wars Story in Los Angeles.

He spoke with EBONY about fulfilling his dream of becoming an actor. “I’ve been doing this since I was 8 or 9 years old,” he said. “I have been told ‘no’ a billion times; the fact that I just kept doing it and wanted it that bad, it’s beautiful that it has come full circle.”

He also talked about starring in the upcoming remake of Superfly, which will hit theaters in June. “We captured the essence of Atlanta, the culture, the music, the fashion—all of that is in this film,” he said.

Solo: A Stars Wars Story releases on May 25. Watch the full interview above.
