Get ready to party, y’all! Headed into year twelve, AfroPunk just released its 2016 lineup. Keeping it classic, none other than Ice Cube is set to headline the show – a privilege that Afropunk shares on their website:

“Twenty-seven years after N.W.A – the group Cube co-founded with Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, MC Ren, and DJ Yella – released their archetypal gangsta rap masterpiece Straight Outta Compton (Ruthless/Priority, 1989), the group’s 2016 induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, with an introductory speech by their spiritual heir Kendrick Lamar, is a mark of how far Cube has come.”

Announced acts also include Janelle Monae, Ceelo-Green, poet Saul Williams and indie music darlings The Internet, Flying Lotus, Angel Haze, and Janelle Monae’s artist, Roman Gianarthur.

The festival will take place in Brooklyn August 27 to 28. Catch the rest of the lineup and grab your tickets here.
