Graduation season is upon us, meaning sad endings and new beginnings for many, including "Glee" character Mercedes Jones. Actress and singer Amber Riley recently took to Twitter to announce her official departure from the acclaimed musical television show after this third season. Mercedes, a senior at McKinley High, will be graduating which means as will Riley. The 26 year old expressed both relief and acceptance when tweeting to her followers: “That’s a wrap on Amber Riley! Just closed a chapter in my life."
Riley promptly sent out additional tweets, revealing that she'd miss her fellow cast members as well. “I’m going to miss the whole Glee family, seeing them everyday! I have so many brothers and sisters now," wrote Riley. "But I am looking forward to a much needed and deserved summer vacation! School’s Out Glee Kids! Let’s play!” Seeing as how celebrated Riley has become in both Hollywood and the music industry, her next move is really up to her. Unlike many of her peers on the scene right now, the triple threat has proved time and time again that she can do it all at the same time and still bring down the house.
