Anthony Mackie has been groomed to become one of the industry's top leading men for quite some time now. The actor, who is currently starring in "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer," is said to be in negotiations to play Falcon in the upcoming Captain America sequel "The Winter Soldier" starting Chris Evans as the title character. As created for Marvel comics, Falcon was first featured in the fall of 1969, making him the "first African-American superhero" in the Marvel, according to Stan Lee.

Like all Marvel superheroes, Falcon boasts some pretty sweet superpowers, including bird-like vision, flying abilities, martial arts, and gymnastic skills. Although Mackie's casting has yet to be set in stone, directors Chris Markus and Stephen McFeely are confirmed as well as the release date (April 4, 2014).
