Ne-Yo Says No to EDM, Yes to R&B
As of late, Ne-Yo has been leaving us R&B fans hanging to entertain all the fist-pumpers of the world. With electronic dance music (EDM) hits like “Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself),” “Beautiful Monster” and “Give Me Everything,” the once-soul singer traded in his pretty harmonies for rave club strobe lights and glow sticks. But now the man with the lethal pen skills is reclaiming his spot in R&B. He promised that his new album, Non Fiction, is “99.999998 percent R&B” during an interview with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club yesterday. Ne-Yo launched the upcoming salvo with the R&B-charged single “Money Can’t Buy” (featuring Young Jeezy), and plans to drop the whole record sometime in September.

Spike Lee to Direct Pharrell’s American Express Unstaged Show at the Apollo
On June 3, not only will Pharrell Williams make his debut at the world-famous Apollo Theater, but the legendary Spike Lee will film his performance to stream via YouTube/Vevo as part of American Express’s Unstaged concert series. Although this isn’t the first time Lee and P have collaborated (they hooked up for the mega-producer’s ARTST TLK series, which aired on the Reserve Channel late last year), this will surely be something to see.

Swizz Beatz Shuts Down Cheating Rumors
For the longest, rumors have been circulating that Swizz Beatz is a serial cheater and has been dippin’ and tippin’ on his soul-singing wife, Alicia Keys. So when he took a liking to the Instagram-famed fitness trainer Lita Lewis, leaving a comment on a photo (telling the buff beauty to check her DM on IG), snoopers took it as a creep move. But it wasn’t even like that. So to shut down the rumors, Swizz posted a screenshot of the actual direct messages, along with this statement:
It’s sad that I have to take away from my school work to clear this up. For all the blogs that are trying to make a issue out of me DM’ing a trainer FYI it was for my Wife!!!! Please keep that negativity to your negative self thx! I sure did not see you post about me getting a street [named] after me or getting accepted to Harvard!!
Case closed… on to the next one!
