Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys Welcome Baby Boy

Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz are literally celebrating a new beginning. The couple welcomed their newborn baby boy, Genesis Ali Dean, into the world early Saturday (December 27), giving their 4-year-old son Egypt Daoud a kid brother. Swizzy and Alicia each Instagrammed an image of the little one’s footprints along with the caption, “The joy of joy is joy!! It’s a boy! we are so grateful!! #blessings!!” Genesis Ali is Swizz’s fifth child, his second with Alicia.

The Game, Tyga, DJ Mustard Participate in L.A. Millions March Against Police Brutality

The fight against police brutality isn’t slowing down, and hip-hop is standing up for the cause. The Game, Tyga and hitmaker DJ Mustard showed solidarity via their participation in the Millions March in Los Angeles on Saturday. The three Cali music men joined an estimated 5,000 protesters marching through the Fairfax and Miracle Mile districts of L.A. “Today we took the POSITIVE approach. One day at a time,” Game wrote in the caption of one of several Instagram photos he posted of the march. Two weeks prior, Nas, Russell Simmons and members of the Orange Is the New Black cast joined over 25,000 protesters taking to the streets of Manhattan for New York City’s Millions March.

Bobby Shmurda’s Criminal Lyrics Won’t Be Used Against Him in Court

Despite criticism of his too-real rap song “Hot Ni**a,” Brooklyn spitter Bobby Shmurda hasn’t dry snitched on himself or GS9 crew members via his breakout hit. Arrested and indicted earlier this month on drug, gun and conspiracy charges, the 20-year-old rapper will face trial, but his seemingly self-incriminating record won’t be entered as evidence, according to Jakub Brodowski, a rep for the office of the special narcotics prosecutor. Shmurda, born Ackquille Pollard, faces eight to 25 years in prison if found guilty of five charges on eight counts. He’s being held in Riker’s Island on $2 million bail.
