OWN Picks Up Tyrese and Rev Run Talk Show About Men and Relationships

Tyrese and Rev. Run are playing love doctors on an upcoming talk show to appear on OWN. That’s right, folks: an inside-look at the inner workings of men on a primetime television show on the Oprah channel. “When Rev. Run, Tyrese and CBS came to us with the idea of a primetime series, we were energized by the chance to bring OWN viewers something fresh and entertainingly real in the ‘love space,’ ” said Sheri Salata, president of OWN. “We can’t wait to turn them loose, enlightening us all about what makes men tick.” Alrighty. Black Ty and the Rev have previously collaborated on the book Manology: Secrets of Your Man’s Mind Revealed.

Starz’s Power Renewed for Third Season

Starz is bringing Power to the people for a third season. The 50 Cent-executive produced crime drama debuted its second season on Saturday (June 6), posting a network record-breaking 3.62 million viewers for an episode of an original series. “Power is a project I have been passionate about since day one,” said 50, who intends for the binge-watchable show to go seven seasons. “I’m glad the audience loves the show as much as we do, and we are just getting started.”

As for Fif’s cheap shots at Empire, well, those don’t seem to be letting up anytime soon either. He recently posted an Instagram photo with a caption criticizing Fox’s hit show. “Empire is some sh*t you should get for free,” he wrote of the Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson-starred show, which appears on regular TV. “Power is worth paying for.”

Power—which stars Omari Hardwick, Naturi Naughton and 50 himself—will return for a third season in 2016 with 10 new episodes.

Chiwetel Ejiofor to Play Villain in Marvel’s Doctor Strange

Say hello to the bad guy: Chiwetel Ejiofor. For once, the 12 Years a Slave is playing an antagonist in the Marvel film Doctor Strange. Deadline reports that the English actor will depict Baron Mordo, a sorcerer and enemy of Doctor Strange (played by Benedict Cumberbatch). But perhaps his character won’t be all bad; the report suggests that the adaptation will tone down Mordo’s evil characteristics. But you can see Ejiofor’s dark side for yourself in November 2016, when the movie hits theaters.
