Nominations for the 2018 Grammy Awards were released yesterday, with several fan faves making the cut. Cardi B, 2017’s biggest success story, shocked fans and haters alike after earning two nominations, for Best Rap Song and BestRap Performance.

Although the former reality star had plenty of support by way of her #BardiGang, others question if her summer smash “Bodak Yellow” is truly worthy of such an honor because the Bronx rhymer’s birth name, Belcalis Almanzar, isn’t listed as a writer on the song. Original artist Kodak Black is credited.

The 25-year-old responded to critics via Instagram, saying people want to discredit her because of her relatively short time in the business, all while insisting she wrote her own lyrics for the hit and gave Kodak Black his due credit from day one.
