At 64-years-young, Chaka Khan will continue to contribute to the musical landscape with a new endeavor.

According to The Grio, the iconic chanteuse is set to launch an independent record label under the name of iKhan Sounds. Gearing up for a two-for-one special, the indie label will not only sign on fresh and new talent but will support the icon in her personal musical efforts as well.
There has yet to be an official statement regarding the launch but the new direction is in support of Khan’s strategic move to control her music and its profits. Over the years, she has been signed to a number of major records labels like Warner Bros, ABC, and Reprise, and it’s time to take the lead as she moves forward in bringing us feel good tunes and groovy rhythms.
In celebration of her new venture, Khan is also set to release a song entitled “I Love Myself” on June 16. Only time will tell what comes of iKhan Sounds but stay tuned to find out!
