Chance The Rapper continues his philanthropic efforts through his youth empowerment brand SocialWorks in his hometown of Chicago.

Teaming up with STATE Bags, “a one-for-one bag brand that delivers a backpack to an American child in need for every bag sold,” Chance is prepping the inner-city for the back to school season. On a mission to empower public school students, together STATE and SocialWorks will donate 30,000 backpacks to children living in some of Chicago’s most underfunded neighborhoods to ensure they are equipped with essentials for their first day of school. This Saturday, August 12 at the Bud Billiken Parade,  STATE co-founders Scot and Jacq Tatelman will join Chance to hand out thousands of bags to Chi-Town youth and their families.

In a press release, the organization shared its appreciation for Chance and his participation in their #GiveBackPackChicago initiative. “STATE has dedicated its entire back to school giving efforts to the city of Chicago and could not think of a better partner than hometown hero Chance the Rapper who has done such an immense amount to give back to this city. “
