Chevy Chase is in hot water after allegedly using "nigger" while decrying his "Community" character's bigoted dialogue on the set of the NBC show. While Chase did not direct the racial slur at any of his African American cast mates, the legendary funnyman used the poignant word to complain to the show's writers that they had gone too far with their writing. Fearing that they would expect him to use the "n-word" at some point, Chase decided to jump the gun and beat them to the punchline.

The comic actor is reported to have apologized to his fellow actors immediately afterwards. But this is not the first clash between the 69-year-old actor and the "Community" creators. He has publicly feuded with the show's creator Dan Harmon in the past and has slammed the acclaimed sitcom as "mediocre."
