When Beyoncé announced to the world that she and Jay’s family would be multiplied by two, after the congratulatory messages and fawning over the fact that Blue Ivy would be a big sister, a big question remained unanswered. Would Queen Bee still headline the annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival?

It has been confirmed that Beyoncé will NOT be performing at Coachella 2017, but will instead be headlining in 2018. Festival goers shouldn’t be quick to bash the singer as this was strictly under the doctors orders.

On Thursday, Parkwood Entertainment (Beyoncé’s label) and festival producer Goldenvoice, released a statement to the Associated Press explaining her decision.

“Following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months, Beyonce has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival,” the statement said. “However, Goldenvoice and Parkwood are pleased to confirm that she will be a headliner at the 2018 festival. Thank you for your understanding.”

There has been no confirmation on the performer taking her place. Kendrick Lamar will still be headlining this year’s festival in Indio, California on April 16 and 23.

Other performers at this year’s Coachella include Future, Gucci Mane and DJ Khaled.

Beyonce was originally scheduled to perform April 15 and April 22 making it her first performance at the festival in addition to being the first female since Bjork in 2007. Needless to say, there is always next year.

Beyoncé’s due date is not clear, however she has been advised to take it easy for a reason. There is a tough balancing act when it comes to women and their careers, and Beyoncé is very big on family.  We support you Beyoncé and wish you two healthy and beautiful bundles of joy!
