The NBA’s Dallas Mavericks have launched an investigation looking into claims of sexual misconduct by employees within the organization, including its former CEO, after an explosive report published by Sports Illustrated.

On Tuesday, the sports publication detailed years of sexual harassment and abuse toward female employees by former president and CEO Terdema Ussery.

A former employee claimed that during the 2010-2011 NBA season, she had an unplanned dinner with Ussery, where he proceeded to tell her she would get “gang-banged,” according to the article.

Several women described a workplace culture that was rampant with abuse and that higher-ups, inside the Mavericks organization, were not only aware but threatened to fire employees who didn’t “shut up” and do their jobs, according to SI.

“It was a real-life Animal House,” a former employee told the sports magazine.

Ussery, who resigned from the Dallas Mavericks in 2015, denied the claims made against him, telling the publication.

“I am deeply disappointed that anonymous sources have made such outright false and inflammatory accusations against me,” Ussery said to SI. “During my career with the Mavericks, I have strived to conduct myself with character, integrity and empathy for others.

Mavericks owner Mark Cuban rejected claims that he was aware of abuse within his company.

“This is all new to me,” he told SI. “Based off of what I’ve read here, we just fired our HR person. I don’t have any tolerance for what I’ve read.”
