VH1 reality series Sorority Sisters was cancelled after just one month due to backlash from various Greek organizations. One star, Priyanka Banks, claims she was expelled for her appearance on the show, and she’s ready to take Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. to court.

Banks brought her complaint in the Eastern District of New York, claiming she learned from “a random Facebook posting” on Jan. 13, 2015, that the Deltas had expelled her along with four other Sorority Sisters co-stars, according to The Jasmine Brand. She claims she’s yet to receive a formal ejection notice.

The former television star believes controversy surrounding the show wasn’t due to her own behavior, but was because of VH1’s reputation of creating “ratchet television” where women are “using profanity, behaving violently and verbally tearing one another down.”

She is seeking punitive damages, alleging defamation, breach of contract and negligence, as well as other counts.
