Good things take time and clearly, Donald “Childish Gambino” Glover is planning to hit fans of his Golden Globe winning series Atlanta with a second dose of dopeness because season two isn’t coming until 2018.

Yes, EBONY Fam, we yelled “Nooooooo” too, when the scoop came across the entertainment news desk.

But, it’s not all bad. On the business end, Glover is expanding his empire with an extended production deal with the FX network.

In the new partnership, Glover will develop new projects for FX and other networks or streaming services. Not only will his hands be full with development, writing, directing and producing, the multi-talented entertainer has acting gigs on his hand too. He’ll play Lando Calrissan in the upcoming Star Wars Han Solo film. Production for the project is set to begin this month.

“Atlanta was just the beginning, the breakout comedy of the year and a series revered as much for its originality as its honest look at the experience of being aspiring, young and black in that legendary city,” Nick Grad, FX president of original programming said in a statement. “We’re proud to partner with Donald in an overall deal that will allow him to continue turning his creative vision into incredible television.”

So, we can’t be too disappointed for the year-long wait for Atlanta because Glover’s creativity is flourishing and it’s a beautiful thing!
