Faith Evans and the Notorious B.I.G remain a staple when it came to hip-hop relationships. Together, she, a small soulful vocalist and he, a massive figure with a charismatic lyrical flow provided the genre with street luxury glamour and crazy talent.

Their love, which produced a son – Christopher Wallace Jr., was no secret and neither were their feuds – including the tumultuous rumble with Lil’ Kim aka the Queen Bee. But in the end, the essence of their innate chemistry reigns above the adversities of the past.

With the release of Faith’s compilation album, The King & I, which blends new vocals from the songstress and archival verses with sprinkles of fresh bars from the late-great Notorious One and a heavyweight line-up of guest appearances from Jadakiss and Busta Rhymes to Lil’ Kim, there’s one track that sets the tone for the project without doubt: Legacy.

“If there were a title track for The King & I, it would be ‘Legacy,”’ says Evans in a release sent to EBONY. “This song absolutely sums up the theme of the album.”

Ahead of the album’s May 19 release, Faith released the music video for “Legacy.” Check it out below.
