We're still pretty confused as to how Gabby Douglas' history-making performance at the Summer 2012 Olympics turned into a debate about her hair, but we do know that the 17-year-old phenom handled the situation with an extraordinary amount of maturity and class.

Gabby stopped by HuffPost Live on Tuesday to chat about her life after the Olympics, being a role model and how she was able to deal with all that hair hoopla while still managing to rewrite history.

"I really didn't focus on it," Gabby told HuffPost Live. Rather, her thoughts were preoccupied with all the positive things going on. Oh, like becoming the first African-American gymnast in Olympic history to become the individual all-around champion, and the first U.S. gymnast to win gold in both the individual all-around and team competitions in the same year? Yeah, that's definitely more important than some Twitter tolls hating on your 'do.
