UPDATE: Wendy Williams Invites Clark Sisters on her Show, ‘I Like the Clark Sisters’
Yolanda Adams, Fred Hammond, Michelle Williams and more are speaking up for the legendary Clark Sisters after Wendy Williams threw a bit of shade their way on her popular talk show.
While discussing the gospel charts during her “Hot Topics” segment, Williams suggested the group must feel bad that Snoop Dogg’s debut Christian album, Snoop Dogg Presents: Bible of Love, – which features the Clark Sisters – reached No. 1 while they have never charted so high after years within the industry.
“If I were the Clark Sisters, would I be mad that Snoop got No. 1?” Wendy asked her audience. “You know the Clark Sisters, they’ve been doing gospel forever. Have they gotten No. 1?”
“Well,” she sighed, “Step up your game.”
Wow, so @WendyWilliams dissed the Clark Sisters and clearly didn’t realize how legendary they truly are. 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ Or how many #1 hits they actually DO have. Lord, she needed to do a little more research before speaking on them smh pic.twitter.com/tzlHxksoBD

Adams, Hammond, Williams, Tasha Cobs, Deitrick Haddon, Kirk Franklin and others from the world of gospel quickly defended the group, with Kierra Sheard, daughter of Clark Sister Karen Clark Sheard, telling Williams that their value goes beyond record sales. They also let fans know that the group has, in fact, gone #1 before.
Check out responses to Wendy from the gospel community below.
The Clark Sisters……one of thee most INFLUENTIAL groups of ALL TIME!!!!! Sampled, borrowed from, imitated by groups and singers of alllllllll genres!!! Most recently sampled by Jay Z on the album 4:44 on the song Family Feud. #FACTS

I would be nothing without the CLARK SISTERS. I’m not even in the same category. I’m just now getting to where they started. Salute.
