This month, representatives of Havana, Cuba came to Harlem, NY, to introduce the country’s rich tapestry of music, dance, art, and culture to audiences at the Harlem/Havana Music & Cultural Festival.

It was a first time initiative, led by the Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce and Rep. Charles Rangel, but planners hope it will become an annual event.

In these photos, styles by fashion designers like Mariela Caridad and others and music from artists including pianist Jorge Pacheco and dance by Compañía de Danzas Tradicionales de Cuba JJ helped to bring the atmosphere of Cuba to New York City during the Harlem Music Fest.
