Jay-Z and Beyonce raised eyebrows when it was reported they planned on trademarking their daughter's name. Now, according to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, their plans are regulated to simple hopes and dreams, as they have ruled that the big bank roll duo cannot trademark their daughter's name. Bey-Z were looking to be granted trademark protection over the name "Blue Ivy," but that distinction is already owned by a Boston wedding and event planning firm called Blue Ivy Events, which has been operating since 2009.

The couple reportedly put in the request shortly after their daughter was born in January 2012 because Beyonce wanted to create a line of children's clothing and baby products under the name. Owner Veronica Alexandra, who heads the wedding and event planning firm, apparently has no hard feelings over the trademark charge. She even told London's The Telegraph that she would even be willing to come to a financial agreement with the couple. "If Beyonce and Jay-Z want to buy me out, I'd welcome that."
