Philly fans and music lovers across the nation are now buzzing with anticipation for the recent news that Sean “Jay-Z” Carter announced along with Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter today in a press conference. On September 1st and 2nd, Jay-Z will headline and curate the “Made In America” music festival along with an eclectic line-up of 28 other artists set to be featured on three stages. According to the rapper and businessman, 70% of the acts have already been confirmed.

The two day festival will be held on Philadelphia’s Benjamin Franklin Parkway, a major traffic vein in the city. The festival is being done in conjunction with Budweiser and an unspecified amount of the proceeds will be donated to the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania. The announcement comes at a prime time. His superstar wife, Beyonce, is kicking off the summer on May 24th with a 4 day performance in Atlantic City at the Revel Resort.
