In the second teaser for David Letterman’s upcoming interview with Brooklyn rapper Jay-Z, the music mogul discusses his children and how emotionally mature daughter Blue Ivy has become at the tender age of six.

During the chat on Netflix’s My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, Hov shares a story where his first born speaks up after feeling disrespected, making him the proudest father ever.

“I told her to get in the car the other day because she was asking a thousand questions and we had to leave for school,” he recalled to Letterman. “I just hear a little voice [say], ‘Dad, I didn’t like the way you told me to get in the car the way you told me,’—she’s six—’It hurt my feelings.’”

Impressed by her candor, the 48-year-old father responded, “That’s the most beautiful thing you’ve ever said to me.”

Hov also discusses his mother’s coming out story on the program, saying he cried when she was finally able to be honest with him and herself.

“I mean, I really cried. That’s a real story. I cried because I was so happy for her that she was free.”
