It’s been two years since the release of Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly, which addressed a variety of societal issues and now the “five foot giant” is baaack with a dope new single.

The Compton-born lyricist perked ears early Thursday morning with a rare posting to his social media account. The visual displayed the roman numeral 4, which has since been deleted. But, it was enough to indicate that something was on its way and now…it’s here!

K.dot dropped “The Heart Part 4,” a five-minute lyrical beast that braces fans for what’s to come on his next project. The single is also the latest in a series that spans across his discography.

The talk is aggressive, the production is amped and intricate with complementary beat changes as the TDE frontman flosses his delivery skills on topics proving that though the music has been quiet for a minute, he’s woke and in-tune with what’s happening from the streets and industry whispers to Washington D.C. and the political foolery.

Listen to the joint below and on iTunes or Apple Music.

And the Interwebs are going crazy, rightfully so:

The vibe on “The Heart Part 4” is urgent and energetic, giving notice that Kendrick is coming out swinging with metaphorical one-liners that are sure to grab quote worthy attention.

Bottom line: As Kendrick warns, emcees have until “April 7 to get their *bleep* together.”

Ooohweee!
