Okay, maybe we’re being a little fresh. But the “Pretty Girl Rock” singer is on tour with Gillette and focused on getting couples to continue the lip locking. Hilson is helping spread the word to men on why they should keep that face smooth, and make it easier for us gals to kiss up on them!

EBONY: This has got to be one of the cutest Valentine’s Day experiments I’ve heard of!

Keri Hilson: This experiment is interesting. I’m hoping that there’s a sway towards smooth, kissable and cleanly shaven hair on their face!

EBONY: So wait, is that your preference? You actually prefer the cleanly shaven face? Because I love the scruff.

KH: I prefer cleanly shaven, but that’s not to say that I don’t like facial hair. Scruff is fine, but there’s a certain length to where scruff is not abrasive to women.

EBONY: That’s true!

KH: Stubble and scruff are two completely different things.

EBONY: I follow you on Twitter, and I know how much you are in love with love.

KH: Can’t deny that!

EBONY: I was just wondering, how important is kissing to you when it comes to relationships and showing your affection. Because I’m not a kisser! I actually hate kissing.

KH: What!?

EBONY: I hate it. I hate it!

KH: Wow. I can’t imagine, I’m all about kissing. A guy that isn’t a good kisser is a serious deal breaker for me. I love to kiss! We can’t even go any further if the kiss doesn’t turn me on.

EBONY: I like to touch and hug and pinch cheeks and stuff like that, but I’ve always been anti-kissing.

KH: That’s funny. So you don’t avoid the kiss for any one reason, but Gillette found that one out of three women avoid the kiss because of lazy stubble and, you know, non-manicured facial hair.

EBONY: Yeah I would be the “three.” What about this initiative made you want to jump on board?

KH: I think it’s important that men understand what women like, because sometimes they have such a weird perception of what it is we really enjoy. And shaving, it may seem like a small deal, but it really is a big deal. It can be an unpleasant experience when we get that irritation from them rubbing their cheeks against ours. We love to cuddle. But we don’t love to cuddle with stubble. I’m hoping that this experiment will go in the direction that I prefer. [Laughs]

EBONY: We can’t wait to get the results, to see what women prefer. Will you be kissing on anybody this year on Valentine’s Day?

KH: I will be! I do have a Valentine this year! [Laughs]

EBONY: That’s so cute!

KH: I know, I’m excited!

EBONY: Well, I hope the Gillette challenge goes your way and your work gets more couples locking lips on this special day.

KH: Aww! Thank you so much. I hope so too!
