Over the past few weeks, Mariah and Nicki Minaj have begun shading each other on the judges panel, and Nicki even took it to Twitter by posting that Mariah was "bitter and insecure." Although Mariah hasn’t responded to Nicki’s tweets just yet, her hubby Nick Cannon definitely isn’t afraid to speak on her behalf.

This week, he visited KTLA News in Los Angeles to talk about the on-going feud between Mariah and Nicki and he claimed that Mariah has way too much going on in her career to feed into the beef that he believes the “AI” producers are supporting. He also said Mariah knew there was going to be drama with Nicki from the start, and she told him, “I didn’t sign up to be on Love & Hip Hop.

On Mariah warning the producers that she and Nicki might have drama: "The amazing thing is that my wife, foreseeing all of this, tried to tell the network. She said, ‘I don’t think this is going to work, I’m afraid.’” She said, “I don’t need this. I’m doing this for the brand of American Idol," which she has been a fan of and [she] loves the show, but [they're] kind of gonna take this in the wrong direction like one of those reality shows. She’s said, “’I didn’t sign up to be on Love & Hip Hop.
