The tweet heard around the world continues to drum up more controversy, as this time Nasir "Nas" Jones weighs in with his opinion. As far as the Queensbridge MC is concerned, Gwyneth Paltrow is allowed to say the "n-word" because "she's a real n—a." The living hip-hop legend vehemently defended the Academy Award-winning actress, saying, "I would slap the s— out of somebody for Gwyneth Paltrow. She's the homie, she's cool. Gwyneth gets a pass," Nas told CBS Local. "We don't interrupt Italians when they say 'Wop' to each other. Don't interrupt us. We pick and choose."

While the outspoken artist doesn't describe who "we" necessarily is, Nas, who is also no stranger to controversy, agrees that "some might not feel the same way" as the likes of Russell Simmons and The Dream. "Some of us will get angrier about it than others; but some people get a pass," Nas said. "The people that I know who are cool and real n—-s, Gwyneth Paltrow is a real n—a, that's my homie."
