Nas just keeps being half man, half amazing.

His musical foundation, laced with classics, sets the tone for his legacy. His business endeavors, which includes everything from men’s grooming to tech and media, will cement it. But it’s his heart for service and uplifting our communities that catapult Nas beyond Top 5 rapper lists to something even more iconic.

This Giving Tuesday, the Queensbridge emcee is using one of his passions to help those in need. His clothing line HSTORY, has just released a special Christmas sweated called the “Kneeling Santa.”

Paying homage to the courage of Colin Kaepernick, HSTORY clothing shares on its website that a portion of proceeds will go to The Center for Court Innovation. The organization seeks to help create a more effective and humane justice system–and lowering incarceration rates–by designing and implementing operating programs, performing original research, and providing reformers around the world with the tools they need to launch new strategies.

And while it may be easy to undermine just how important it is to use our creative gifts for the greater good, it’s something that the legendary rapper takes very seriously.

“Black people have been pushed to the back so hard that it pushes me forward. It makes me want to achieve,” he states in our #EBONYPower100 issue. “My goal is to prove that all men are equal and we can all contribute to society.”
