Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne Win Award for Educating the Youth

If you were wondering who’s teaching kids these days, don’t look to the classroom—according to the Better Education Place, a South Florida-based education organization that recently named Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne “teachers of the year” for their ability to capture and maintain the attention of our youth… yes, you read that correctly. The CEO of the organization, Melvin El, says that although “they weren’t teaching the things that would make kids successful in life…they’re teaching kids in an abundant way.” The Young Money rappers received this acknowledgement over actual teachers who tirelessly attend to students every day. So, rappers who spit lyrics about drugs, violence and sex inspire our children more than educators…and we should celebrate this? Do you see a problem here or are we crazy?
