Last weekend, Apollo Theater trustee Ronald O. Perelman hosted a dinner and private concert at his East Hampton home to benefit the non-profit theater. The Fifth Annual Apollo in the Hamptons featured a blowout concert with performances by legendary superstars Gladys Knight, Jamie Foxx, Sting and Jon Bon Jovi, with Pharrell Williams serving as creative director and The Roots as the house band. The whole evening closed with a rousing set from Pharrell.

The event raised $4 million to support the Apollo’s artistic, educational and outreach programs, which build on the Theater’s rich history as a cultural and economic anchor to Harlem and a nurturer of emerging talent. Other notable guests included Spike Lee, BET’s Debra Lee, Grace Hightower and Robert De Niro, Barbra Streisand, Paul McCartney, Jack Nicholson, Howard Stern, Don Johnson, Harvey Weinstein, Matt Lauer and many more.
