The Soul Train Awards went down over the weekend (November 26) and the soul singers shut it down.

Toni Braxton was one of the leading ladies of the evening and was given the Don Cornelius Legend Award, which came complete with a tribute from Luke James, Jessie J and Ro James. Ro James set the stage with “Seven Whole Days,” which was followed by Jessie’s stirring rendition of “You Mean the World To Me.” Luke finished it off with an arousing take on “Un-Break My Heart.” All three singers ended together on stage to a standing ovation.

Braxton would soon follow with a performance of her own. Toni kicked off her performance with “Breathe Again” and “Love Shoulda Brought You Home.” She also brought the Hip-hop vibes and played a portion of Redman and Method Man’s “How High (Part II)” and blendED it with “You’re Makin’ Me High.” Finally, she ended it off with “He Wasn’t Man Enough” with some help from her sister Tamar.

Hosted by Erykah Badu, the event included performances by Keyshia Cole, Tamar Braxton, and 112. Fantasia, Bilal, and Faith Evans participated in the Soul Cypher and SWV was also honored with the Lady of Soul Award.
