WE TV’s April Daniels, who is also founder of the Rock Out With Me Campaign came together recently with Howard University and EBONY to finish the last leg of the Women's Empowerment Multi-City tour, which was aimed at uniting, inspiring and encouraging women. It was produced along with Los Angeles-based event production firm Wright Productions.

The event, which took place at Howard University during its homecoming weekend and had over 450 guests in attendance. It also featured the Rock Out With Me Empowerment Panel, moderated by EBONY Entertainment and Lifestyle Director, S. Tia Brown. The discussion focused women achieving success through education, entrepreneurship and relationships and featured panelists, including Executive Television Producer, Treiva Williams (Mary Mary, R&B Divas, LHHH); Celebrity Lifestyle Designer, Diann Valentine; Arnita Johnson, CEO of Luxurious Credit; Actress Denyce Lawton and Khalilah Harris, the Deputy Director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans along with Daniels herself.

Afterward, Braxton was honored at the event with the Rock Out With Me "BuildHer" Award.

"Don't write yourself off. Don't let your past experiences or doubts or people not believing in you stop you from reaching your goals," said Braxton when she was given the award. "I am just a regular girl who did not give up on her dreams."
