Scandal will reportedly end after its seventh season.

Yes, that means the time has come for us to say “Bye bye” to Olivia Pope and her gladiators in 2018, E! News reports. ABC is reportedly expected to officially make the announcement next week.

The news may not be shocking to many. In 2016, Good Morning America Anchor, Laura Spencer, caused panic when she said the sixth season would be the show’s last. Shonda Rhimes, the series’ creator, took to Twitter to address the confusion.

“Whoa, @GMA: I never said this was the final season of #Scandal,” Rhimes tweeted. “Way to make me spit out my coffee!”

During a recent interview with GlamourKerry Washington didn’t provide much when asked about the series’ expiration date.

“It’s not really up to me,” she said. “It’s up to Shonda and to the network. Shonda has said from the beginning that she kind of knows how it ends. So, I’m trusting her to guide the arc.”

The entire TGIT line-up was renewed by the network in February. It had previously announced that Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy and How to Get Away with Murder would all return.

Rhimes has previously said she’s always known when Scandal will end.

“I feel like there is a finite amount of Scandal to be told,” Rhimes said in an interview with NPR. “I know what the end of Scandal will be, and I feel really good about that. And I can see where the end point is. And I don’t think I’m going to change that …I know how long it will be, but we’ll see.”
