The royal wedding is less than a month away and Serena Williams has some advice for close friend Meghan Markle on her big day. In an interview with Good Morning America, Williams says it is important that the bride soak up the moment and be present in all that is taking place.

Williams has won four Olympic gold medals and 23 grand slam titles so far. Off of the tennis court, she has a new role as mother and wife, which she gives the world a glimpse of in her new HBO docu-series Being Serena. The 36-year-old married Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian last November. When asked how she feels about her close friend getting married in what is to be one of the biggest events of this year, she says, “I’m obviously super happy for her. She’s such a great girl and she is incredibly nice, and I couldn’t be happier for her.”

The advice the tennis star has to share with her friend is very simple: “It’s so important to enjoy the moment.” Williams also offers up some suggestions about dessert: “And eat the cake … I didn’t get to eat mine at the wedding. We were just having so much fun.”

Oh, and did Williams get invited to the royal wedding? Well, that’s information she kept to herself.

Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding is scheduled for May 19.

Being Serena premieres May 2 at 10 p.m. on HBO.
