OWN’s newest series, Black Love is an intimate look at Black married couples and how they’ve kept their relationships going strong after numerous years. Helmed by filmmakers and real-life married couple Elaine and Tommy Oliver, Black Love highlights love stories from the Black community while answering thought-proving questions. Some of the topics that will be explored include the secrets to happy marriages and how first impressions have defined relationships.

Black Love starts from the beginning, examining the birth of love and moving forward getting into the nitty gritty reality of what lifelong relationships look like. Though marriage and long-terms relationships certainly aren’t always a walk in the park, Black Love shows that it can happen for anyone. The docu-series shares honest, emotional and sometimes cringe-worthy always-true love stories.

Throughout the show’s freshman season the Olivers will speak with celebrity couples, Viola Davis and husband Julius Tennon, Meagan Good and DeVon Franklin, Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict, Flex Alexander and Shanice, as well as Erica and Warryn Campbell

They will also get the perspective of regular folk making their love work across the country.
