SZA is having one of the most successful years of her career. The singer-songwriter snagged five Grammy nominations, and her 2017 debut album, Ctrl, is now certified platinum. With the pressures of the industry likely weighing on her, she sought out her mom for some much-needed advice on coping with stress and being overwhelmed.

“The Weeknd” singer shared her mom’s “fire words” with “whoever needs em.”

“Remember, you can even eat an elephant one bit at a time. To help change feeling stressed out and overwhelmed, jot down all the stuff that’s making you crazy, then write beside it what must be done NOW, what can be done LATER, and what would be nice to do if you could but is OPTIONAL,” wrote SZA’s mom.

This isn’t the first time SZA shared words of wisdom from her mother. She included messages from both her mother and grandmother throughout her album, and honored her matriarchs by bringing them as her date to the Grammys. SZA was nominated in the categories of Best New Artist, Best Urban Contemporary Artist, Best R&B Song, Best R&B Performance and Best Rap/Sung Performance. She ultimately went home empty-handed, but the honor was not missed on her.
