Brooklyn MC Talib Kweli is known within the hip hop community as a pretty stand up guy, and he’s willing to fight for his reputation amid some serious allegations being thrown his way.

The “Get By” rapper is reportedly suing a site called Turtleboy Sports for defamation after making repeated claims that he raped a 14-year-old girl, according to court documents obtained by The Blast.

According to the lawsuit, Turtleboy Sports tweeted, “Talib Kweli once molested a 10-year-old boy. Read it on the Internet on a site called Buffalo Bruises. Must be true.” Another tweet from the site said, “why did you rape that 14-year-old girl? How much did you pay her to keep quiet.”

Attorneys for the Quality rapper claim that site — which is actually called Buffalo Bruisers — was created by Turtleboy Sports for the sole reason of posting the rape story. In fact, the Kweli story is the only article listed on the site.

The 42-year-old husband and father denies these accusations, saying the false report hurt his tour and has put his record deals at risk. He will be seeking unspecified damages.
