Tyrese’s ex-wife, Norma Gibson, recently called the cops on the singer-actor
-Twitter prophet after he tried to pick up their daughter for a scheduled custody visit. However, Norma claims to have informed Tyrese before his arrival that their daughter was sick and because of the terms of their agreement, was to stay with her. Tyrese allegedly showed up anyway, wanting to pick up his kid. He was ultimately turned away upon review of the agreement. Still, a source close to Tyrese says that Tyrese doesn’t believe their kid was truly sick and that he’s been kept from visitation. So now Tyrese wants Norma to be held in contempt and tossed in jail. Petty hurts. [Rhymes With Snitch]
If you’re a fan, I hope you haven’t packed away your “Free Boosie” t-shirt. It appears that Lil’ Boosie’s prison release has been delayed. According to L.A. Weekly reporter Jeff Weiss, who has spent time with the rapper to do press, Boosie’s parole board hearing was pushed back, ultimately resulting in the Lousiana-bred rapper now seeing a potential release date in March. Once he is out, may he take the word “ratchet” back and save me from having to read so many people using it word. [The Boombox]
He may be making your auntie and ‘nem laugh on TV, but there’s a rumor floating around that Rickey Smiley has some money troubles.
A reader writes to Baller Alert: “The real reason Rickey Smiley fired all his staff and many others quit. He is now in a lawsuit with his former manager for money owed...Smiley was also millions of dollars in debt. He owed millions of dollars to the Internal Revenue Service, and he routinely spent literally tens of thousands of dollars more than he earned each month.’
More: “Smiley persistently wasted hundreds of thousands of dollars. By purchasing boats and automobiles he did not need, and buying airline tickets and renting luxurious hotel rooms for young women he solicited online, in nightclubs, or while on the road with ‘his boys,’ Smiley lived the life of a drunken playboy, without shame or discretion.”
Aww man, homie. [Baller Alert]
A production assistant on The Real Housewives of Atlanta is alleging that NeNe Leakes is trying to sabotage Kenya Moore in order to remain the sole star of the franchise. I mean, did we really need anyone to tell us that? We haven’t noticed that all on our own?
But, there is some new intel. On that party that brought on the fight, the PA writes: “For one, Nene’s erratic behavior was simply because she felt Kenya’s tardiness to her event was a devised plan for the producers to make Kenya the new star of the show, and it was NOT! Before Kenya arrived, Nene was ranting, pacing, and cursing us out about how she is the star of the show, she is the relevant actress, she made The Real Housewives of Atlanta the success it is today, and she should not have to wait for Kenya to arrive to her event. Two PAs were verbally disrespected and threatened by Nene when they simply tried to diffuse the situation by telling Nene that the scene could not wrap until all housewives (Kenya included) were present, we didn’t air any of that footage.”
Also: “So for Nene to blame poor editing on the production and editing staff is the furthest from the truth, and showing no accountability on her end. For obvious reasons, BRAVO network decided not to allow Nene’s blog to go up on their site when part 1 of the brawl occurred, because the network knew what Nene was saying was not the truth.” [The Fame Driven]
So it looks like Keri Hilson is no longer dating Serge Ibaka.
On her Valentine’s Day plans: “This is going to be an interesting Valentine’s Day. That’s all I’ll say. It’s going to be interesting. I’m working, I’m just busy, I’m busy. I feel like right now, music is my boyfriend. That’s how I feel, right now. So, I don’t know.”
And when asked for love advice to women: “Know who you are. Umm, never drop your standards, for anyone. That’s it. And I mean that in every since of the relationship. Business, you know whatever, if there’s a certain standard that you uphold, and you’re so strong-minded. There are some things that you [can] tweak in a relationship, but not your standard. Not that.” [The Jasmine Brand]

Apollo Nida has filed a motion pleading with a federal judge to postpone his criminal hearing. According to court documents filed on February 10, the husband of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks has asked for “an extension of time up to and including March 25, 2014.” The delay “will allow the parties sufficient time to discuss a potential resolution of this case,” i.e. a settlement. Meanwhile, Kenya Moore told Bethenny Frankel that she thinks Apollo is going to jail. [Radar]
In case you forgot, O.J. Simpson is still alive, though if you are to believe the tabloids, that might not be for much longer. Per a source, he’s on a hunger strike as a means of suicide. How serious is he said to be about it?
Well, the source claims: “O.J. is done. He’s dropping weight fast, and it’s scaring the hell out of his few remaining friends. He just won’t eat, and you can tell by his voice that he just wants to die. That’s exactly what is going to happen to him unless some good news drops out of the sky to cheer him up and give him a reason to live. However, that doesn’t seem likely.” I think this is the part where I’m supposed to feel sad. Yeah, Total, help me sing. Total, help me sing. [National Enquirer]
On her upcoming nuptials to Dwayne Wade, Gabrielle Union says: “The biggest difference between this and the last marriage will be a prenup. Umm, at my insistence. When you have your own stuff, you don’t need to worry about anybody else’s stuff. So everyone should go in to the relationship knowing I’m here for you and you’re here for me. And the reality of it is, I’ve never seen Dwyane balance a checkbook. So I gotta protect my stuff, you know what I mean? No, I mean it’s the way of the future, protecting your stuff.”
Oh okay, girl.
Drake cares not about Macklemore’s apology to Kendrick Lamar over the Compton rapper’s Grammy snub. In fact, he finds it “wack.”
He explains to Rolling Stone: "I was like, 'You won. Why are you posting your text message? Just chill. Take your W, and if you feel you didn't deserve it, go get better — make better music. It felt cheap. It didn't feel genuine. Why do that? Why feel guilt? You think those guys would pay homage to you if they won?"
And: "This is how the world works: He made a brand of music that appealed to more people than me, Hov, Kanye and Kendrick. Whether people wanna say it's racial, or whether it's just the fact that he tapped into something we can't tap into. That's just how the cards fall. Own your sh*t."
Naturally, he then interjected himself: "To name just Kendrick? That shit made me feel funny. No, in that case, you robbed everybody. We all need text messages!"
Mind you, this is Drake, king of outing exes protesting the publicizing of something private. [Rolling Stone]
