Toronto Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan said he suffers from depression and anxiety.

On Sunday, DeRozan, 28, opened up about his mental health during an interview with The Toronto Star.

“It’s one of [those] things that no matter how indestructible we look like we are, we’re all human at the end of the day,” DeRozan told the publication. “We all got feelings … all of that. Sometimes … it gets the best of you, where times everything in the whole world’s on top of you.”

DeRozan recently opened up about his mental health during NBA All-Star weekend. The player tweeted that he was depressed to his 610,000 followers.

The star, who signed a five-year, $139 million deal with the Raptors in 2016, spoke candidly about treating people the same.

“I don’t care who you are,” he said. “You can be the smallest person off the street or you could be the biggest person in the world, I’m going to treat everybody the same, with respect.”

DeRozan said he didn’t open up about his mental health to get support from his fans but to let them know that it’s OK to open themselves up, according to The Star.

“It’s … nothing I’m against or ashamed of. Now, at my age, I understand how many people go through it, said DeRozan. “Even if it’s just somebody can look at it like, ‘He goes through it and he’s still out there being successful and doing this,’ I’m OK with that.”
