Leave it to the Jody Watley to spread some much-needed soul back onto the dance floor. The Grammy-winning pop icon pays homage to the universal love of getting down with a glam video for the Dave Doyle remix of her latest, infectious club anthem, “Nightlife.” What better place to indulge in the allure of after-dark partying than Giorgio’s, the dance mecca on L.A.’s Sunset Strip?

The black-and-white clip features a Soul Train line of dancers showing off their moves on Giorgio’s dance floor. Of course, a night out is never complete without a crew of friends, and Watley’s entourage includes Andy Warhol legend Joe Dallesandro, famed Giorgio’s owner Bryan Rabin, L.A. based dance crew The Waackers, and mega choreographer Rosero McCoy (Britney Spears/Usher). Watley’s former Shalamar bandmate Gerald Brown even lends his voice to the song, and making a surprise video cameo.

As Watley so impeccably puts it in “Nightlife”: “I’m gonna get my hair done, nails done, I’m gonna get my drag on.” Time to get your dance on!—Alexandra Phanor-Faury
