Cynthia Nixon, best known for her role as Miranda Hobbes on HBO favorite Sex and the City, is currently running for New York state Governor, and has granted her first interview to none other than Wendy Williams.

The actress will visit The Wendy Williams Show on Wednesday, April 4, according to Variety.

Nixon’s campaign spokesperson Rebecca Katz told the site, “We win by getting her in front of voters, because we actually want them to see the real Cynthia. And that’s what we get with Wendy. Her viewers are a large and crucial part of the electorate, and her show reaches all corners of the state.”

Williams does have an undeniable platform, with her show averaging up to 2 million viewers per day. It’s also one of the most popular talk shows in the state of NY, including New York City, Albany, Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse.

Nixon is hoping her approach will unseat two-term Democratic governor Andrew Cuomo, as she embraces press outlets most politicians avoid. There may also be a rapport between Nixon and Williams, as the actress previously visited the show back in 2012. Check out the clip below.
