We’ve Got More Deets On Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’

Marvel’s Black Panther is unlike anything you’ve ever seen beforeIt is the mother of all superhero flicksThe Ryan Coogler film follows T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) who takes the throne as the King of Wakanda after his father’s untimely death. (See how that all went down in Captain America: Civil War). T’Challa will learn that when you’re at the top people are always waiting to come for your crown.

T’Challa relies on his Black Panther alter ego to protect his people and his country. “He has to keep harmony between the tribes within his country, and that means managing expectations and doing things that are unpopular,” Coogler told Entertainment Weekly. “At the same time, he is the protector of that nation.”

In the same interview he said, “In this movie, a lot like politics, it’s a little tricky to define who’s. The film very much plays with those concepts, looking at conflicts and different motivations, and who’s with who.”

Michael B. Jordan stars as T’Challa’s nemesis, Erik Kilmonger. Let’s just say he doesn’t exactly agree with how things are being run in Wakanda. Lupita Nyong’o plays Nakia T’Challa’s former lover who is also an undercover spy for the country. She travels across the globe and reports back on what she discovers. Forest Whitaker, Angela Bassett, Danai Gurira, and Letitia Wright round out the cast in what is going to be the littest Black movie of the year. Peep the teaser trailer below.

Black Panther drops February 16, 2018.
