It is very rare in one’s career to get anywhere near an iconic brand, much less touch it. For the past four incredible years, I have had the honor of not just touching but reshaping EBONY, the oldest and largest Black magazine in the world. Executing EBONY’s first top-to-bottom redesign in its history has been the highlight of my career to date. I am extremely grateful to the leadership of Johnson Publishing Company for entrusting me with the company’s flagship brand. And what an amazing experience to work at a company run by Black women!

Of course, no editor-in-chief works alone. Magazine making is a team sport, and the terrific writers and editors at EBONY are some of the best and hardest working in the business. I sincerely appreciate the passion, creativity and tenacity of everyone whom I have worked with, both in Chicago and New York.
